Bed rest during Pregnancy

I never thought this would happen to me…well I guess no pregnant woman knows what will happen during pregnancy right? We all expect this “perfect” pregnancy but then realise how different 2 pregnancies can be.

So far, this pregnancy has been a rollercoaster. Very different from my first. Could it be because it’s a boy this time? 😉

During my first pregnancy I had so much energy and thank God, I never got sick!

Pregnancy

About 2 and half weeks back, Kitana came home with a bug. It was terrible. She was throwing up, loss of appetite, fever etc. I took her to the paed, hoping that the meds will help get her better quick and it did … but then as soon as she went back to school…she got sick again! I wrote about it here.

So she’s been sick ever since then but is feeling much better now that she passed it on to mom and dad. I’m so glad that she recovered because it’s so scary as a parent seeing your child in pain.

From last week, I’ve been suffering with an itchy cough. It’s given me sleepless nights and I would cough so bad that my C-section would start hurting. It was a horrible experience but I kept thinking that it will get better but it didn’t…It just got worse!

I’ve tried a few remedies which I found online and some that were suggested from my readers but unfortunately nothing seemed to work for me. Yesterday was the worst. I didn’t even have energy to walk. My body was aching and tired. I ended up getting a temperature and the cough just got worse.

Vije and I decided to visit the doctor because we both needed meds. The doctor looked at me and said: “Oh darling, you need to be in bed!”

He couldn’t believe I waited this long to come especially being pregnant. He told me: “Sometimes, you just need medication to get better and in your situation, you need lots of rest.”

To be honest, I don’t know what is rest because I just can’t sit still. I’m addicted to work …lol and my blog is everything to me but I guess it’s time I listen and take a break. I’ve got so much on my mind that I want to blog about but I’m not sure when I’m going to get around that. For now, you will be seeing updates but mostly brand updates until I recover.

Thank you to everyone who’s been so kind and sent me well wishes. It’s because of you, I keep blogging!

I’ve realised that you don’t mess around with your body especially when you pregnant. So preggy moms, if you not well…visit the doctor! Even though I hate taking medication during pregnancy, I have no option now.

I’m currently working from bed even though I’m not suppose to but I’m still getting rest. Baby seems fine and at the moment, he is kicking like crazy! Next week I have a check up with my gynae, I’m so excited to see my son again… It’s starting to hit me, soon I will have a son!

So sorry to hear that you haven’t been well. I was so fit and healthy but pregnancy knocked me right off my feet and straight into bed for 8 months. Wishing you a speedy recovery! xx

Hope you feel better soon! I’m also on pregnant, due in September and on bed rest. Some days it’s easy, some days it isn’t. I’m sure you can handle it. It’s all for a good reason.
