When expecting a baby the pram is one of the most important products needed. It will be your constant companion for many years and you will use it almost every day. However the decision is tough. It is like buying the first car for your baby so you want to make sure you buy the best product available, right? Deciding on a stroller can be a daunting task and one can easily get lost in the jungle of options. All the different types, models, brands and features can be overwhelming and confusing. In order to find the perfect stroller that suits your lifestyle I have put together some questions you should consider and which will help you to make a choice you won’t regret.

How old is your child?
If you are buying a stroller for a newborn you need a pram with a carrycot or a seat that folds down completely flat. The lie-flat position is important to aid a healthy development o your baby. A car seat which can be attached to the stroller frame is a great addition and converts your pushchair into a handy travel system. Many prams are multi-functional and grow with your child which means they can be used from birth up to toddlerhood.

Where do you want to go?
If you live in the city you need a stroller that it is easy to maneuver and has swivelling but lockable front wheels. You might have to carry it up and down of stairs or into public transport so the frame of your pram should be sturdy but lightweight. A spacious shopping basket is a big plus and will simplify your life. If you live in the countryside or want to use your pushchair in rough terrain, big air-filled wheels and a sturdy frame are a must. 3 Wheeler Joggers are especially popular among people living in rural areas as they handle rough surfaces the best. These all-terrain pushchairs have a good suspension system and often come with a handbrake to provide optimum comfort and safety. If you need to travel a lot you should opt for a stroller that is lightweight, folds quickly and fits easily in your boot.

Will you need to transport siblings?
If you are expecting twins or will soon have two young children a double stroller is the best option. There are two different types of double strollers, the twin or so-called side-by-side stroller and the tandem stroller in which the children sit behind each other. Tandem strollers are really practical for the use in tight spaces like shopping aisles and crowded city centres however twin strollers support the interaction between siblings and both children can enjoy the same views. There are also many single strollers available which can be easily converted into a double stroller by clicking in an additional seat when needed.
What accessories and features are important to you?
Most prams include many accessories and features. A big canopy is especially needed in the summer to protect your child from harmful sunrays. In the winter a cosy footmuff will keep your baby warm and a raincover will keep your child comfortably dry during rain. A diaper bag in the design of the stroller is a practical feature and provides plenty of storage space for nappys, wet wipes and other important items. Most of these items can also be purchased separately, but it is nice when the stroller already contains a few of them.
On Prams.net you can find many high-quality prams, strollers, pushchairs and buggys which suit different lifestyles and needs. They offer a large selection of established brands to choose from and will help you make the right choice.

I had a jogging stroller when my kids were little. I loved that thing, but after two kids, it went to my sister in law who is still using it today 🙂
These are all great options. When my kids were little we had a decent stroller, but it wasn’t like any of these.
Thank you so much for all your advice. Have been struggling to find the right stroller for me and now I think I now know what I am looking for!
Love this post. I had no clue which stroller to get when my kids were born. It can be tough finding the right one.
There are so many great options out there now. The strollers that I used when my kids were little were top of the line and now are pretty obsolete!
Back in the day, most baby strollers looked alike and served just one purpose. Now, there are so many styles and models that adapt to the parent’s lifestyle!
These are really nice strollers. My baby making days are behind me but man I needed these type of strollers. I feel cheated. lol
