Finding out the gender of your baby can be one of the most exciting moments during pregnancy. Many moms like myself prefer finding out during pregnancy while a few wait until baby is born. Honestly, I couldn’t see myself waiting that long. I’m an impatient person who likes to be organised and since this is my second child, I wanted to know early so I can see what to keep and what to donate to The Grace Factory. Weeks before we found out, I did the Chinese gender predictor test online because I was so curious to see the results. I’ve heard about the old wives tale gender predictions during my first pregnancy but never bothered to research but this time I did. I’m going to share some of the prediction outcomes.

Chinese Gender Predictor outcome: Boy

Old Wives Tale: Heart Rate
If the baby’s heart rate is above 140 bpm, it is said that the baby will be a girl. If it is under 140 bpm, then it will be a boy. Prediction outcome: Girl

Old Wives Tale: Acne
If you have acne while pregnant, it’s a girl. It’s thought that acne during pregnancy is caused by the extra hormones. Prediction outcome: Girl

Old Wives Tale: Morning Sickness
If you have a smooth pregnancy with no morning sickness, it’s a boy. If you sick or feel really nauseous during your pregnancy, count on a girl. Prediction outcome: Boy

Old Wives Tale: Headaches
If you are have headaches, you might be carrying a boy. Prediction outcome: Girl

Old Wives Tale: Cravings

People believe that if you are craving salty foods while pregnant, you can count on having a boy. If you crave sweets, fruit, and orange juice, you are having a little girl. Prediction outcome: Uhm, I’m craving non!

At 12 weeks my doctor was 80% sure about the sex but at 17 weeks he confirmed it.

Team pink or blue

For me, it was a surprise! For some reason I expected the opposite of what he told us but I was super excited when I found out the gender.

Now I can prepare for my baby and start looking for names which isn’t exactly going well for me at the moment. Choosing Kitana’s name was so much easier because I fell in love with the name before she was conceived but this time I’m lost and have no favorites.

Ever since I announced my pregnancy, I’ve received tons of gifts from brands I work with. I’m blown away by the support and love. I appreciate each gift and I’m really looking forward to using them and of course reviewing the products on my blog.

One that really stood out was something that NetFlorist sent. It was a gender specific gift and something I never bought during my first pregnancy.
