This year is different from the rest. We are in the middle of a pandemic and South Africa is currently seeing an influx in Covid-19 infections daily. Please be safe and remember to wear your mask and carry your sanitiser when you are out and about. Social distancing is extremely important and can help flatten the curve.

With that being said, I know cabin fever sucks and you might want to do something with the family and support local businesses and venues.

Hyde Park Corner is all about Festive Flair

If music be the food of love, then play on! To reflect a Festive tone, that is exactly what Beyond Africa will be doing on 12 December at Hyde Park Corner. Relax into your Festive shopping experience with a live performance by this talented classical duo featuring Jude on the harp and Kabelo on the violin.

The magic of Montecasino:

After a trying year, Montecasino has decided to go ahead and once again, present The Magic of Montecasino with its dazzling display of over 285,300 lights, the largest indoor festive light display in Johannesburg, and the spectacular 3D Projection Shows on the Montecasino Piazza. Best of all, come rain or shine, the lights can be enjoyed daily until 6 January 2021.

While Montecasino may bring their magic to Johannesburg, they still adhere to all Government regulated Covid-19 protocols. Visitors to the complex are reminded to wear their masks at all times and keep a safe distance from other groups. The complex will also be adhering to curfew on New Year’s Eve, closing at 23h30 or early, should they reach capacity before curfew.

Gold Reef City’s Theme Park set to thrill visitors once more!

Gold Reef City Theme Park has implemented multiple COVID-19 protocols as per Government regulations that include, social distancing markers, sanitising stations, sanitising of high volume touchpoints throughout the Theme Park including ride safety restraints as well as staff training. Gold Reef City Theme Park would like to assure all guests that their safety and well-being are in front of mind at all times.

What about reduced capacity?

The Theme Park is an “open-air” entertainment park, which makes it safer and visitor capacity has been reduced to comply with government regulations and will be monitored accordingly.

Ride safety

As the Theme Park was closed throughout the lockdown period, servicing and testing for all rides commenced over a month ago by Engineers, ensuring all safety measures are in place so that all rides will be ready to safely operate.

Gold Reef City Theme Park (https://www.goldreefcity.co.za/theme-park/) is now opened! 18 thrilling rides, 13 dedicated kids rides, Jump City Trampoline Park, the only authentic underground mine tour in Johannesburg, 12 dining options, multiple retail stores, plus 15 other attractions all set against a gold rush era backdrop. These are all the reasons Gold Reef City Theme Park is not only the largest of its kind in South Africa, but it was also voted one of South Africa’s most loved and coolest entertainment destinations too. Things are a little different now, tickets are available for purchase online. They also recommend wearing a buff instead of a mask as it is less likely come off during a ride keeping you safe throughout your visit.
