Shopping for an SUV can be really daunting – especially if you don’t have a huge budget to work with. The Landwind 5 might just be the answer for you.
Many first-time parents ask the question: Do I really need to buy an SUV when I have a child?
No, you don’t but it does make life a lot easier when you are traveling or shopping.
Babies come with lots of luggage, so they need ample space in a car for the car seat, pram, nappy bag etc.
JMC – the brand behind Landwind offers mid- and high-end commercial vehicles and dual passenger/cargo vehicles, offering real value for money, economy, reliability, durability and fuel efficiency.
Jiangling Motors Co.Ltd. (JMC), is a major key player in the Chinese automotive industry with commercial vehicles as its core focus and it has been ranked as one of China’s Top 100 Listed Companies for many consecutive years.
To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first heard about the Landwind, but I was impressed by the price. I’m trying to figure out why I haven’t seen more of them on the roads yet?
My Opinion on the Landwind SUV?
Firstly, I think that it is important to know that you can’t and shouldn’t compare Landwind to the other high-end SUVs in the country – especially when it comes to technology and new innovations. Landwind’s offer is still quite basic compared to the competition who are offering more luxury features for the more discerning buyer. I can foresee that they are going to introduce something exciting in the years to come. The SUV is based on first principles of design – for example, you have to manually put the key in to start the car. It has the simple old-school technology but worth it if you think about the affordability of the vehicle. The car looks very attractive and could be mistaken for other brands from a distance. The leather interior inside definitely stood out for me and works well if you have kids.
The Drive?
If you are used to fast cars, this might not work for you, but I do think it is perfect to move in and around the city. I think the vehicle surprised me a bit. I never expected what I experienced from it. It went above my expectations.
I kept asking myself, what is wrong with the drive? But I couldn’t pick up any big faults that are worth mentioning. I’m exactly excited to see how the brand innovates over the next couple of years.

I think that Landwind provides value.
You should consider it for the practicality, convenience, price.
It does have great boot and leg space which is a big plus for me.
The car has an engine that can work for short and long-distance travels – just depends on what drive you prefer. It would be your ideal budget-friendly entry-level SUV in South Africa plus it comes with service and maintenance plans and the parts are sourced for you.
