My day of bonding at the Soulstice Day Spa.

Vije and I visited the spa on the 04 February afternoon. My first impression of the spa was: It is in a great location! Soulstice Day spa is situated at the Silverstar Casino in Krugersdorp. This makes it the perfect place to escape for a weekend if you want to get away from your busy lifestyle in Jozi.

As we walked into the entrance, we passed a great water feature which made me want to stop and take out a picture. We were greeted at reception by 2 beautiful well presented women, they knew exactly who I was. It made me feel great knowing that they had expected me. We were then given a tour of the spa and our treatments were explained. Every room I walked in, I was immediately overwhelmed with the lovely scents I wish I had at home (I loooove SPA’s).. The decor is exquisite which made me, fall in love with the setup. It’s definitely a luxury spa one should experience at least once in their life.

Our first treatment: Rasul Chamber

Based on the traditional Turkish bath, this exfoliating and cleansing ritual uses pure natural medicinal earth mud to cleanse and detoxify the body and combines herb-infused steam to open pores and draw out impurities. To complete the ceremony, a tropical rain shower will wash away the mud providing an all over cleansing, detoxifying and rejuvenating experience. This ceremony can be enjoyed as a group or with a partner. The Rasul Chamber can accommodate up to 5 people at a time.

The setup was extremely private and very welcoming. Vije and I had so much fun, I think that’s the most I laughed in a very long time. We bonded, it was one of the few times where we could actually sit down and do something together with no toddler around. The best part was when the rain came down to wash the treatments, I felt as if Vije and I were dancing in the rain. For a minute it felt like we were dating all over again 🙂 Can you feel the love already?! 😉

We didn’t have time to take out pics inside but I do have one from the spa to show you how awesome it looks inside.

After getting drenched and messing up my hair (ha ha..) who does their hair to go to a spa right? I had finally had an opportunity to meet Lizelle whom I had communicated with for some time now. She’s such a lovely person.

Our next treatment was a Signature treatment which I was really looking forward to.

Soulstice Imvelo African Massage:

Start this journey by gathering your thoughts breathing scented humidified air with colour therapy lights of your choice before the therapist enters the treatment room. This experience includes stretching, deep kneading & stroking massage techniques. This rhythmic massage will restore the balance in you, reduce tension and relieve insomnia & headaches. End this journey off with Amarula in true exotic African spirit.

We had to choose between 3 genres of music to listen to while having the massage, I chose nature which was wonderful. I closed my eyes and let the music drift me away. I will never get tired of massages. Laying there, I realised this is the life I’ve always wanted and I’m finally experiencing it. My therapist Tshidi did a fantastic job, professional and friendly.

After 105 minutes of this lovely treatment I was given a cup of tea and told to relax as it was the end of my treatment. I had to literally wake Vije up as he fell asleep while enjoying the massage. He said he just loved the warm bean bags. I decided to take a swim in their pool and try out their funky chair which was sooo cool 🙂 … The swimming pool, sauna and steam room is complimentary, so no matter what treatment you do, you can use these free of charge.

My overall experience:

I love the setup which makes you feel very ‘la de daaa’. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. It smells and feels like a spa that makes you want to go back for more. My favourite was the Rasul Chamber because it was my first time experiencing something like that. Vije and I really bonded in the chamber. This place is perfect for Couples who want to rekindled their romance with a day at the spa. Definitely a place for love. When I left, I felt refreshed and rejuvenated.

Will I visit them again?

Oh yes! I’m already planning my next visit .

Will I recommend the spa?

Yes

Price Range:

The Signature Soulstice Imvelo African Massage costs: R790

Rasul Chamber: R330
